What's Included:
The After School Zone Academy is a community based extended day program, committed to taking a leadership role in child care services and direct its activities toward student success.
Homework Completion

Homework is an important aspect of our after school program for students, and our staff work our kids, and their parents to ensure the children complete their homework Monday - Thursday during our dedicated homework time and extended times when needed.

Academic & Enrichment Activities

Students are given opportunities to learn through hands-on activities and experiments. They engage in fun activities that create a desire to learn through a mix of traditional and nontraditional topics including STEM, arts and crafts, cooking sessions, and leadership and financial training.
Daily Physical Activities

Students are encouraged to be physically active daily to enhance their physical well-being. Our staff helps them identify activities they enjoy and might engage in long term. Physical activity keeps kids’ bodies and minds from becoming sluggish and unproductive.
STEM Maker Lab

Students receive weekly in-person STEM enrichment from our partner A Hand in Learning STEAM Experience in our STEM Maker Lab. Students enhance their critical thinking by learning about programming, robotics, electronics, drones, virtual and augmented reality.

The Yogi Bear program is design to enhanced the mindfulness of children by using games, art, play and meditation techniques. The behavior intervention used, helps children acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.
Leadership Training

Pretty Pennies, Every Penny Counts trains and molds young creatives into future leaders by teaching in subject areas of Financial Literacy, Communication 101, Table/Social Etiquette, Introduction to Acting, Dance Fitness & Health Nutrition. Activities aid in developing positive self-esteem, develop awareness of fine arts, learn to interact socially, and display a good personality.
Camps

We offer camps during the Winter, Spring and Summer. Students participate fun-filled camps, which offer a variety activities that are educational; integrating the emotional, physical, intellectual and social needs of children. Our camps are designed to enhance self-esteem, and promote individual creative expression in fun and exciting ways! Our camps consist of "3" weekly field trips and tons of exciting activities to keep children busy and happy!

Preschool Teacher (Teaching ages 4 - 5)

We are currently seeking a dedicated, qualified, experienced teacher who is looking for a part-time opportunity in a newly established pre-school. Applicant must meet the following:

Part-Time After School Care Counselor/Driver
Seeking an ENTHUSIASTIC counselor for a part time after school care position. Great job for a college student majoring in education. Candidate must be 18, and have a HS diploma or GED. Individual will interact closely with children and will assist with homework completion, serving snacks, light cleaning, organize and conduct weekly activities and ensure safety the of all children. You must have patience and a love for working with children. We service kids ages 5 - 12 and provide after school pickup for Richland/Lexington 5 and Richland 1 schools. Work hours will be from 2:20 pm to 6:30 pm Monday - Friday and 11:30 am on schools early release days. We are open on all school closing days. Experience in a child care setting preferred. Please do not inquire about this position if you are seeking a temporary job.
Applicant must meet the following criteria:

Must be 18 years of age or older

Possess a valid Driver's License with at least one year of driving experience and a clean record.

Driver's record and SLED check must be provided if you are considered for hiring.

Ability to drive a small daycare bus.
After school care center looking to hire a part-time driver. Dependability is a must and the ability to work flexible hours. Work time will be between 2:15 pm to 3:30 pm Mon - Fri and 11:15 am to 12:00 pm once a month on a Wed. or Thur. After school pick-up is from area Richland/Lexington 5 and Richland 1 schools.
Duties will be driving 7 passenger vans, a 15 passenger bus or a 9 passenger SUV to local schools for after school care pick up. All vehicles are insured and do not require a CDL.
A clean SLED and DMV driving record is required (no exceptions). Pre-employment drug screening is also required. Applicants must be physically capable of sitting in a vehicle for extended periods of time. Must have a neat appearance and be very prompt and on time.
